RFC5
replication factor C subunit 5 | RFC36

This gene encodes the smallest subunit of the replication factor C complex, which consists of five distinct subunits (140, 40, 38, 37, and 36 kDa) and is required for DNA replication. This subunit interacts with the C-terminal region of proliferating cell nuclear antigen and is required to open and load proliferating cell nuclear antigen onto DNA during S phase. It is a member of the AAA+ (ATPases associated with various cellular activities) ATPase family and forms a core complex with the 38 and 40 kDa subunits that possesses DNA-dependent ATPase activity. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 9. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2016]

RFC5 — as a Regulated Gene

TFs regulating RFC5 0 TFs

Transcription factors with Perturb-seq knockdown data for RFC5. The Binding column indicates whether any binding evidence exists for this TF–gene pair (ChIP-seq or motif footprint peaks). The Mean coef is the average Perturb-seq regression coefficient across active gRNAs (positive = RFC5 upregulated upon KD; negative = downregulated). The Outlier column indicates whether this gene is in the top or bottom 5% of all TF knockdown effects.

Elements linked to RFC5

Open chromatin peaks (ATAC-seq) in the genomic neighbourhood of RFC5, linked by TSS proximity or chromatin conformation (Multiome / HiCAR). Each element overlaps at least one TF ChIP-seq binding site — the TFs column shows how many distinct TFs bind that element.
