PIEZO2
piezo type mechanosensitive ion channel component 2 | FLJ23144, FLJ23403, FLJ34907, HsT748, HsT771, C18orf30, C18orf58, FAM38B, FAM38B2

The protein encoded by this gene contains more than thirty transmembrane domains and likely functions as part of mechanically-activated (MA) cation channels. These channels serve to connect mechanical forces to biological signals. The encoded protein quickly adapts MA currents in somatosensory neurons. Defects in this gene are a cause of type 5 distal arthrogryposis. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known. PIEZO2 — as a Regulated Gene

TFs regulating PIEZO2 0 TFs

Transcription factors with Perturb-seq knockdown data for PIEZO2. The Binding column indicates whether any binding evidence exists for this TF–gene pair (ChIP-seq or motif footprint peaks). The Mean coef is the average Perturb-seq regression coefficient across active gRNAs (positive = PIEZO2 upregulated upon KD; negative = downregulated). The Outlier column indicates whether this gene is in the top or bottom 5% of all TF knockdown effects.

Elements linked to PIEZO2

Open chromatin peaks (ATAC-seq) in the genomic neighbourhood of PIEZO2, linked by TSS proximity or chromatin conformation (Multiome / HiCAR). Each element overlaps at least one TF ChIP-seq binding site — the TFs column shows how many distinct TFs bind that element.
