Expression

RNA-seq expression profiles of SOX17 and CXCR4 across the ESC → Definitive Endoderm time course, showing whether the TF and its putative target are co-expressed.

Transcription Factor:
SOX17 ↗
This gene encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional regulator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Target Gene:
CXCR4 ↗
This gene encodes a CXC chemokine receptor specific for stromal cell-derived factor-1. The protein has 7 transmembrane regions and is located on the cell surface. It acts with the CD4 protein to support HIV entry into cells and is also highly expressed in breast cancer cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with WHIM (warts, hypogammaglobulinemia, infections, and myelokathexis) syndrome. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Perturbation Regression Coefficients

Distribution of per-gene regression coefficients for each SOX17 guide RNA in the Perturb-seq DE screen. The marker shows where CXCR4 falls in each distribution, indicating the direction and magnitude of its response to SOX17 knockdown.
