UGT8
UDP glycosyltransferase 8 | CGT

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family. It catalyzes the transfer of galactose to ceramide, a key enzymatic step in the biosynthesis of galactocerebrosides, which are abundant sphingolipids of the myelin membrane of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

UGT8 — as a Regulated Gene

TFs regulating UGT8 0 TFs

Transcription factors with Perturb-seq knockdown data for UGT8. The Binding column indicates whether any binding evidence exists for this TF–gene pair (ChIP-seq or motif footprint peaks). The Mean coef is the average Perturb-seq regression coefficient across active gRNAs (positive = UGT8 upregulated upon KD; negative = downregulated). The Outlier column indicates whether this gene is in the top or bottom 5% of all TF knockdown effects.
