SEPTIN4
septin 4 | ARTS, CE5B3, FLJ40121, H5, MART, Septin-4, hCDCREL-2, hucep-7, C17orf47, PNUTL2, SEPT4

This gene is a member of the septin family of nucleotide binding proteins, originally described in yeast as cell division cycle regulatory proteins. Septins are highly conserved in yeast, Drosophila, and mouse, and appear to regulate cytoskeletal organization. Disruption of septin function disturbs cytokinesis and results in large multinucleate or polyploid cells. This gene is highly expressed in brain and heart. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. One of the isoforms (known as ARTS) is distinct; it is localized to the mitochondria, and has a role in apoptosis and cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]

SEPTIN4 — as a Regulated Gene

TFs regulating SEPTIN4 0 TFs

Transcription factors with Perturb-seq knockdown data for SEPTIN4. The Binding column indicates whether any binding evidence exists for this TF–gene pair (ChIP-seq or motif footprint peaks). The Mean coef is the average Perturb-seq regression coefficient across active gRNAs (positive = SEPTIN4 upregulated upon KD; negative = downregulated). The Outlier column indicates whether this gene is in the top or bottom 5% of all TF knockdown effects.

Elements linked to SEPTIN4

Open chromatin peaks (ATAC-seq) in the genomic neighbourhood of SEPTIN4, linked by TSS proximity or chromatin conformation (Multiome / HiCAR). Each element overlaps at least one TF ChIP-seq binding site — the TFs column shows how many distinct TFs bind that element.
