This gene belongs to the Ras GTPase-activating proteins (RasGAP) family and encodes a protein with pleckstrin homology (PH), C2, and Ras GTPase-activation protein (RasGAP) domains. This protein is localized near or at the plasma membrane when expressed exogenously. Reduced expression of this gene in some cell lines resulted in increased levels of the active form of Ras (Ras-GTP), suggesting that this gene may play a role in negatively regulating the Ras signaling pathway. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Transcription factors with Perturb-seq knockdown data for RASAL3. The Binding column indicates whether any binding evidence exists for this TF–gene pair (ChIP-seq or motif footprint peaks). The Mean coef is the average Perturb-seq regression coefficient across active gRNAs (positive = RASAL3 upregulated upon KD; negative = downregulated). The Outlier column indicates whether this gene is in the top or bottom 5% of all TF knockdown effects.

Open chromatin peaks (ATAC-seq) in the genomic neighbourhood of RASAL3, linked by TSS proximity or chromatin conformation (Multiome / HiCAR). Each element overlaps at least one TF ChIP-seq binding site — the TFs column shows how many distinct TFs bind that element.
